The Homestay

Lyn’s Homestay Retreat is the ideal place for your next relaxing getaway. Located in Cambridge, one of New Zealand’s most picturesque towns, it is close to cafes, stunning nature walks, bike trails, Hobbiton, Lake Karapiro and other attractions.

The homestay has recently been completely renovated and offers guests the choice of three comfortable sun drenched bedrooms with bay windows overlooking the expansive private gardens. Nothing compares to waking up to the calm of a typical Waikato morning with the only noise being that of birdsong from the garden.

To help you unwind a range of services are offered including delicious home cooked breakfasts, the use of bikes and massages by request on the day. Everything is designed with your comfort and relaxation in mind!

Your Hosts

Lyn and Tony Allen are your friendly hosts. From the moment you set foot in the door you will feel welcome as you are encouraged to make yourself at home. Lyn has a long history in the customer service industry and this is evident in her approach to all aspects of your stay. She anticipates the needs of her guests and goes the extra mile to make your stay a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Lyn and Tony have extensive local knowledge and can help you plan activities whether that is a relaxing day cruising around the Cambridge shops and cafés or an action packed outdoors adventure. You will find it hard to beat the hospitality at Lyn’s Homestay Retreat.

The Rooms

$145 per room including breakfast for 2 people. Full house rental by negotiation

Tranquility

Tranquility is a spacious, comfortable room that is bathed in sun all afternoon. Curl up on the window seat and read a book while overlooking the stunning gardens. The room is equipped with a sumptuous king size bed, an electric blanket and heater.

Serenity

Serenity is a large room set up to take advantage of the morning sun. It has a comfortable window seat overlooking the garden and is furnished with a king size bed, electric blanket and heater to keep you cosy on crisp Waikato mornings.

Harmony

Harmony is furnished with twin king single beds, great for the kids or groups needing extra space. The beds offer the same level of comfort as the other rooms with electric blankets. This room benefits from morning sun and is a great place to relax on a Summer’s afternoon.

Services

Each morning of your stay Lyn will prepare you a delicious, mouth-watering, home cooked or continental breakfast served in the dinning room overlooking the peaceful garden. The perfect way to start your day.

Cooked Breakfast

The cafes and restaurants in Cambridge are fabulous but if you want a quiet night in then ask Lyn about the option of experiencing her fabulous cuisine. Aditional charge applies.

Evening Meal*

BBQ Facilities

Lyn is a trained massage therapist and can offer relaxing massages in the conservatory overlooking the garden. This service is not always available so please check with Lyn. An additional charge applies

Relaxing Massages*

The perfect way for a brides and her bridesmaids to spend the evening before the big day and prepare in the morning. Massages, finger food and the perfect setting for pre wedding photos.

Bridal Pamper*

The Cambridge area has some fabulous cycling trails with spectacular scenery for you to enjoy. The Homestay has bikes available for guest use, during your stay.

Use of Bikes

Lyn will be happy to pack you a picnic basket packed with yummy goodies if you want to spend the day exploring the region or just want a quiet lunch in the park or at nearby Lake Karapiro. An additional charge applies.
